The nearest built up village is 3 miles away in Leverburgh where there is a well stocked shop, gas station, post office, school etc.  Leverburgh also has a ferry terminal connecting North Uist and it is possible to take a local bus to Lochmaddy for the ferry to Skye. There is also a ferry to Skye from Tarbet, further North. (There is now a toll free bridge linking Skye to the mainland in addition to ferries). There is mains drainage and electricity. There is a water line on the plot itself.  Oil is usually used for heating in the area. Outline planning permission was granted in 2007 (5 yrs deadline). The land is believed to extend for about 4 acres, and a 1/4 acre plot is to be sold in an area to be agreed, within the boundary of the two roads leading down to the shore.
