Scarfskerry, Caithness, Scotland. KW14 8XN Plot of land with outline planning permission for sale.

|
Scarfskerry, Caithness, Scotland.
Plot of land with beautiful views, just over an acre, with outline permission for a four/five
bed dwelling, either a bungalow or a one and a half storey building, but
not a two storey building. The site is within an area of very low
density of homes, and most in the immediate vicinity are no taller than
one and a half story. It is understood that the siting of the building
may be anywhere within the boundaries of the plot. There is water and
electricity nearby and the sewage system will have to be by what is
known as a mound system. This is an accepted system in the absence of a
sewer system and entails the empting of filtered contents by contract
gully/sewer contractors. It could be one year or more depending of usage
before empting would be required. The site overlooks the sea, and is located in a hamlet known as Scarfskerry in Caithness. The site is close to two ferries serving the Orkney islands which can be seen directly across the Pentland Firth. Nearby, within walking distance is The Castle of Mey, known as the Queen Mothers Castle (once home to the Queen Mother). A short drive away is the village of Dunnet. The town of Thurso is a further ten minutes away, and a very short drive takes you to the port of Scrabster, a very busy harbour, with vessels from many places using the facility. Again there is a ferry sailing to the Orkneys for both passenger and freight, and this harbour has many pleasure craft. In the opposite direction from Scarfskerry, you by pass the Castle, the Ro-ro ferry terminal, and shortly arrive at John O`Groats where there is the passenger ferry. Continuing on this road will bring you to Wick, the County main town, with the journey passing through very scenic countryside, and with further stunning sea views. Wick has an airport, and both Wick and Thurso have rail terminals. The site is adjacent to the road serving the village, with the road being between the site and the sea, the beautiful and ever changing Pentland Firth, with unobstructed, and ever changing views of shipping. Location: The road that serves the plot is the main road through Scarfskerry and is approx. midway between Scarfskerry Point and Tang Head, the plot is approx 4 metres off the road and extending back towards the Loch of Mey. The owners have lived away from the area for 30 years and it was always their intention to retire back home in Caithness. However due to a change in family circumstances, the land is now available for sale.
Price: £40,000 pounds freehold.
